| 天下無雙，我們難道真相信？像她這樣的人是數不勝數的。然而在我們那熱愛她的眼睛裡，她是結實而不可摧毀的，多長的時間也無法為別人所代替。因為這女人通過各種神奇的召喚一味地調動著存在於我們身上的千百個愛情的零碎基因並把這些基因結合起來，統一起來，消除它們之間的空隙，我們自己則為勾畫所愛之人的面龐而提供全部翔實可靠的材料。這樣一來，即使我們在她眼裡僅僅是芸芸眾生之一員，也許還是最差的一員，她在我們眼裡卻是天下無雙的，而且我們終身都會拜倒在她的石榴裙下。 (p.90 追憶似水年華 VI 女逃亡者 聯經版 1992) Unique, we suppose; she is innumerable.
