Affirming oneself
每天問自己兩個問題
Every day, one should ask these two questions,
which are:
「我的人生有什麼是好的?」、「還有什麼事可以做?」
“What is good in my life?” and
“What else is there to do?”
從這兩個問題啟發自己更有創意的對話,找到自己的價值,
From the two questions one can discover
a more creative conversation
and discover one’s own value.
才能更肯定自我。
All minds have a thereby affirming oneself.
我們的內心都有一部投影機,每天讀出成千
上萬的畫面與情緒,
Projector,casting out tens of
thousands of emotions and imageries a day,
除了要停止負面的批評,還要積極輸入一些正面的鼓勵。
Apart from negative criticisms,
sometimes one needs to put in a little
encouragement.
寫一張自己的履歷表,把所有的優點都列上去,
每週瀏覽一次,做為自我對話的腳本,
List out one’s merits,
inspect it weekly
and make records of the conversation.
在忍不住要責罵自己之前, 先想想看自己還有哪些優點,
沒有想像中的糟。
Before attacking oneself,
one should first think of the redeeming
qualities listed,and realize things are not
as bad as first imagined.
列下自己所擁有的,和自己比,也學會珍惜自己所擁有的,肯定自己
List everything in one’s possession,
compare it to oneself
and learn to treasure and assert oneself.
別再羨慕別人或嫉妒別人, 許多痛苦和不平,
就是從「跟別人比較」開始的,
Cease to envy or adore another,
for much misery is born from this competition.
肯定自己,欣賞自己,要對自己溫柔點,
停止自責,是建立自信的第一步。
Be sure of oneself, adore oneself
and take care of oneself,
stopping self-blame is the first step
to building confidence.
您期盼的事情,如果一時還做不到,
不妨先把注意力放在已經做好的部份,
If one cannot perform a task
to one’s expectations,
turn one’s attention to the completed portion,
告訴自己做得有多好,一個人應養成信賴自己的好習慣,
Tell oneself that one has done well
and during the process, come to trust oneself,
即使再危急,也要相信自己的勇氣與毅力。
this way, in times of peril,
one can muster the courage
and determination to see things through.
