前文談到美國民謠之父Woody Guthrie引導了Bob Dylan等人的抗議歌曲。Bob創造的抗議歌曲旋風中有Joan Baez (瓊.貝也茲)，她與Bob一度極為親密。

1948年，一架載有墨西哥遣返勞工的飛機墜毀。Woody在收音機裡聽到消息時，這些死亡勞工似無姓名，只有一個通稱：遣返者(Deportee)。心中感概，寫下歌詞，尚未譜曲。十幾年後，Martin Hoffman 譜曲，由Pete Seeger首唱，七十年代，由抗議歌手 Joan Baez翻唱。本取遂為經典不朽民謠之一。

台灣人也會想到，目前在台的泰傭，菲勞與大陸來台人民有沒有名字呢？他們到底是張三，李四，或是王二麻子呢？我們可以自問心態是甚麼？當然，台灣並不是世界中的富強之國如美國。我們不論怎樣，都還沒有雄厚的驕傲的條件。Woody在歌詞中想講的，是人和人之間的同理心。後輩受他的影響，剛好碰到越戰以至於美國國內孳生很多問題，抗議歌曲就會興起。可知一首優秀的抗議歌曲會有多大衝擊力嗎？

Woody在歌詞中，故意寫道：

Goodbye to my Juan, goodbye, Rosalita,

Adios mis amigos, Jesus y Maria;

再會了，我親愛的黃，再會了羅撒麗塔

再會了，我的朋友。耶穌，瑪麗亞。

特別把這些墨勞的名字(Alias)和耶穌與瑪麗亞並列。請注意，這是西班牙文。耶穌寫成是Jesus，卻發音為耶穌。西班牙文比較接近拉丁文。

此處特別介紹Joan Baez (瓊.貝也茲)。我了解英語歌曲，是整體性的，整體中又深入了歌曲和歌者的背景，與他們的歷史與文化。同時也讀了一些樂理與音樂史。

The radio says, "They are just deportees"

Is this the best way we can grow our big orchards?

Is this the best way we can grow our good fruit?

To fall like dry leaves to rot on my topsoil

And be called by no name except "deportees"?
