| 是的，我剛剛形成的這個關於時間的觀念告訴我說該是著手撰寫這部作品的時候了。應該趕緊動手。然而現在才動手還來得及嗎？還有，我有力量勝任嗎？這正證明了剛才，我走進客廳，那一張張溝壑縱橫的面孔給予我年華如逝水的概念的時候，我心裡感到惶恐不安是有道理的。心靈有它自己的景物，然而讓它靜觀這些景物的時間卻有一定限度。 (p.368 追憶似水年華 VII 重現的時光 聯經版 1992) Yes, this newly-formed idea of time warned me that the hour had come to set myself to work.
