前中國大陸副總理吴儀在国际女子论坛上说《你，如果是女人》

The speech of China ex vice premier, Ms. Wu Yi, on "If you are a woman." at International Women's Forum 

 
1、你，如果是女人，就一定要控制自己的交往 范围，你不能像男人那样，见谁都是好朋友，即便你的职业是公关，你也不要在下班后，今天和这个男朋友一起喝茶，明天又和另外一个男人吃饭，这样的日子久了，所有的人都会认为你很轻浮，是的，你的熟人是很多，但你却没有真正意义上的朋友。 

1)  If you are a woman, you must limit the scope of your social life.  You can't make friends with anybody just like a man can.  Even your occupation is public relationship, still don't you ever have various dates with different men frequently after work.  Otherwise, gradually people would deem you as a woman of frivolous kind.  Alright, you have wide circle of acquaintances, but you don't have friends in deed.   

2、你，如果是女人，对于任何男人不要轻易接受他给的财物，除非你想和他结婚，一句话：不要占他的小便宜，否则，你早晚要吃亏的，他们都是有目的的，你要知道：凡是有钱的男人，脑袋都装的是投资概念，你一不小心，就被他给投资了，那么，他迟早是要收回成本的，甚至还要在你身上赚上一些，正所谓：“天下没有白吃的午餐”。
 
2)  If you are a woman, do not easily accept the presents or money from any man unless you intend to marry him.  In short, don't take any advantage from him; otherwise, you you'll be at a disadvantage sooner or later.  You must know that they do all those things purposefully: all rich men are vested with the financial concept, and you'll be easily fallen prey to their "investment".  In so doing, they will recoup the money spent on you later, perhaps plus some profit.  Remember it is said: "There is no free lunch in this whole wide world."

3、你，如果是女人，千万不要买低档次衣服和 鞋子，当然了，也不一定非得要买什么天价的名牌，最好的就是正规的商品。也可以廉价，但不至于是地摊上的冒牌。因为你改变不了自己的相貌和身材，但你总可以穿得有品味点吧，这样，你就可以用得体的服装来改变你的气质。不管别人怎么想，你穿的好点总该是表现自己爱自己吧。

3)  If you are a woman, never buy low-end clothes and shoes.  That doesn't necessarily mean you have to buy any prohibitive hauste couture.  You'd better purchase regular commodities at reasonable prices, but not knock-offs.  Because even you're not able to change your face and figure, at least you are able to dress yourself with some taste.  So wearing a proper outfit may enhance your presence.  Never mind what others may think of you, you should love yourself better by dressing yourself better.     
 
 4、你，如果是女人，你就对自己平时的举止形 象非常重视。你平时的站要有站姿、坐要有坐姿，甚至走路时都要有个女人的样子，决不能因为懒惰，或者和周围的人熟悉了就随便，随便是在家里和最亲密的人才可以。

4)  If you are a woman, you should pay much attention to your aspect and image.  You should stand like a lady, sit like a lady, even walk like a lady.  Don't do otherwise because of your laziness, for familiarity breeds contempt.  You are only allowed to be familiar with the most itimate ones at your home. 

5、你，如果是女人，你千万不要被“男女平等”的思想贻害了，男女平等是政治家们的一个口号，也是人类文明发展的一个目标，这个目标，我们所在的社会还从未实现过，无论是西方还是东方，社会还是由男人主导的。你若聪明，就一定要给你所 接触的男人让让路，你尽可能的少说话，多做事。别和男人抢风头，更不用说对自己的老公了， 那就更要充分的尊重他，只有自己的老公出息了，你的家庭才能和谐，你也能感觉到幸福。

5)  If you are a woman, don't ever be fooled by the notion of "sexual equality", which is a political slogan as well as the goal of human civilization that has neven been realized in mankind societies, no matter in West or in East, for our societies are still led by masculine sex.  If you are clever enough, be sure to make some rooms for the men assoicated with you.  Work harder, while speak less, as possible as you can.  Don't steal the show from other men, let alone from your hubby, to whom you have to pay full respect.  Only when your hubby have prospects, can your family be really in harmony, can you sense the feeling of happiness as well.    
 
6、  你，如果是女人，你一定要有自己的特长。不漂亮没关系，只要你有气质。没气质没关系，只要你聪明。不聪明没关系，只要你贤惠。不贤惠没关系，只要你勤快。不勤快没关系，只要你有本事。没本事， 也没关系，但你至少要安分守己……总之，在你面前有10口锅，你不能保证把每一口锅里的水都烧开， 但你至少要烧开一锅。

6)  If you are a woman, you must possess a trait of speciality of your own:  beauty, disposition, cleverness, chastity, diligence, talent, or at least being content with your lot.  In a nutshell, there are ten pots in front of you and you can't guarantee the water in all of them will be boiling, but make sure at least one will. 

7、你，如果是女人，嫁对老公比什么都重要， 你一定要记住这句俗话：男怕入错行，女怕嫁错郎。也许你早就明白这个道理，但问题是，你怎么在才华和财产、人品与地位、 出息与出身之间权衡，开着宝马的土老板和骑着自行车的穷书生同时向你求爱，你选择了哪个？ 你究竟要嫁的是某个人还是那个人所拥有的某些东西？男人的成功有好多种，女人的成功只有一种：那就是嫁对老公。

7)  If you are a woman, the most important thing for you to do is to find you a Mr. Right.  There is a saying goes that you should keep in mind: Men are afraid of choosing a wrong job, while women are afraid of marrying a wrong guy.  Maybe you've have known this better, but the problem is how do you choose between talent and property,  personality and status, prospects and pedigree?  A wealthy yokel riding a BMW and a poor scholar riding a bike are courting you at same time, who will be your favorite pick?  Are you going to marry a man or to the things he's possessed?  Men have many ways to achieve success, while woman have only one way: marrying a right guy.     
 
8、  你，如果是女人，家就是你的全部。你要比男人更爱家，你要努力地营造出家的温馨，让男人感觉到有你的地方就有家，家因为你而温暖，而不是因为那套豪华的房子。建设一个幸福的家，是你一生一世的 追求，如果你为了实现所谓自己的某种“价值”，而忽略了对家的投资，那么，就算你千辛万苦地成就了一些“事业”。蓦然回首，你的身后已经没有了家，一个没有家的人还是个失败者。

8)  If you are a woman, the family is the whole of your life.  You should cherish the family more than your man would; you should spare no efforts to keep the family in warmth, and make your man feel his happy home is his castle because of you, not because of the grandeur of the house.  Building a happy family is your lifetime pursuit, and if you want to pursue other kind of "value" at the expense of not investing on your family; then, even you've acquired some "stature" painstakingly, you remain being a loser whenever you are in retrospect.    
 
9、 你，如果是女 人，你一定要低调处事，万不可贪名，你要知道，女人的名声越大，说她坏话的人就越多，无论政界要人，还是影视明星，只要是出了名的女人，没一个能逃脱闲言碎语污蔑的，也没有一个是被人们当做正经女人看的。纵然 你有武则天的聪明和权势，有某当红歌星的成就和业绩，你看看，这些个女人又得到了什么样的评价？

9)  If you are a woman, you must be low-key whenever you are playing, and never crave for undeserved reputation.  You must also be aware of the bigger reputation a woman has obtained, the more slander will cast upon her.  Never a female celebrity, whether she is a politician or a TV/movie star, can free from gossip or libels, and ever will she not be regarded as a woman of easy virtue.  Even a woman of remarkable intelligence and power as Wu Zetian, the only empress in Chinese history, or of remarkable achievement in perfomance as some so-and-so red-hot singer, let's see what kind of evaluation they have received, any way? 

10、你，如果是女人，一个漂亮的女人，你一定要知道，所有的美丽，都是瞬间的精彩。所有美丽的事物从来都不会为谁停留，你的容颜终有一天失去光彩，你千万不要让你漂亮的容貌误了你的一生，趁你还年轻，抓紧时间充实自己，如果你拥有足够的知识和修养时，你的美丽使你更加美丽；同样，如果你的头脑是空空，那么，你漂亮的容貌就是你最大的不幸。

10)  If you are a woman, a pretty woman, you must know that beauty is nothing but an ephemeral splendor.  Beautiful things will never sojourn at a place for anybody, and the luster of your complexion will elude you eventually; therefore, never let your bright future be impeded by your pretty face.  Grasp any opportunity to enhance yourself while you are still young.  If you boast of self-cultivation and adequate knowledge, then your beauty would make you more beautiful.  Simililarly, if you are empty-headed, then your pretty face would be the biggest disaster to your life.

Hence, talent and virtue are the most important embellishments to a woman!
