| 兩個類似的片語, 結構不一樣. A是比較簡單, 是"吸引人"的意思, 但是B就有三種的意思, 本身也含有A的意思.
A. Turn heads To capture peoples attention due to being exceptionally interesting, beautiful, unusual, or novel. 描述由於某事/人, 特別令人感興趣, 漂亮, 不尋常, 或者新奇, 而抓著眾人的注意力. * The new concept car is really turning heads at the auto show and attracting a lot of press. 這個新概念汽車確實在汽車展上是吸引人的, 並且吸引眾多媒體. * Apple is turning heads and giving bulls something to cheer for on Friday. While shares are up “just” 3.3% on the day, it is a nod that the bulls needed. 週五蘋果(股票)給多頭一些振奮/高興的事. 雖然這天"只"漲了3.3%, 這個是多頭所需要的一個打招呼. (nod 是點頭, 打盹, 我延伸為打招呼.) B. Turn someone’s heads B-1. To avoid paying attention to something uncomfortable, undesirable, unsafe, or inconvenient. 對某件令人不舒服, 不受歡迎, 不安全, 或者不便利的事, 刻意避免注意. * Everyone turned his head when we raised concerns years ago. 多年前我們提出擔憂, 但是每個人都故意視而不見. B-2. To cause one to suddenly become fixated or infatuated. 使某人立即地被吸引著和迷戀著. * She spent all summer exercising and changing her eating habits, and she turned everyones heads when she came back to school that fall. 她一整個夏季都在運動和改變飲食習慣, 在秋季回到學校時, 吸引了大家的目光. B-3. 使某人驕傲自滿 * The success of his first novel completely turned his head. 他第一部小說很成功, 便得意忘形了. * She has not allowed success to turn her head. 她沒有讓成功沖昏頭腦. B. Turn someone’s heads B-1.
