1.4 十二不善心(Akusala-Cittāni

 

1.4.1 八貪根心(Lobhamūla-cittāni

 

Tattha katamaṃ kāmāvacaraṃ?

1. Somanassasahagataṃ diṭṭhigatasampayuttaṃ asaṅkhārikam ekaṃ.

2. Somanassasahagataṃ diṭṭhigatasampayuttaṃ sasaṅkhārikam ekaṃ.

3. Somanassasahagataṃ diṭṭhigatavippayuttaṃ asaṅkhārikam ekaṃ.

4. Somanassasahagataṃ diṭṭhigatavippayuttaṃ sasaṅkhārikam ekaṃ.

5. Upekkhāsahagataṃ diṭṭhigatasampayuttaṃ asaṅkhārikam ekaṃ.

6. Upekkhāsahagataṃ diṭṭhigatasampayuttaṃ sasaṅkhārikam ekaṃ.

7. Upekkhāsahagataṃ diṭṭhigatavippayuttaṃ asaṅkhārikam ekaṃ.

8. Upekkhāsahagataṃ diṭṭhigatavippayuttaṃ sasaṅkhārikam ekan ti.

Imāni aṭṭha pi lobhasahagatacittāni nāma.

 

 

(Consciousness Rooted in Attachment)

 

Amongst them, what is Kāmāvacara?

 

1. One consciousness, unprompted, accompanied by pleasure, and connected with wrong view,

2. One consciousness, prompted, accompanied by pleasure, and connected with wrong view,

3. One consciousness, unprompted, accompanied by pleasure, and disconnected with wrong view,

4. One consciousness, prompted, accompanied by pleasure, and disconnected with wrong view,

5. One consciousness, unprompted, accompanied by indifference, and connected with wrong view,

6. One consciousness, prompted, accompanied by indifference, and connected with wrong view,

7. One consciousness, unprompted, accompanied by indifference, and disconnected with wrong view,

8. One consciousness, prompted, accompanied by indifference, and disconnected with wrong view.

 

These eight types of consciousness are rooted in Attachment.

 

 

當中屬於欲界心的是什麼?

1. 悅俱、邪見相應、無行一心。

2. 悅俱、邪見相應、有行一心。

3. 悅俱、邪見不相應、無行一心。

4. 悅俱、邪見不相應、有行一心。

5. 捨俱、邪見相應、無行一心。

6. 捨俱、邪見相應、有行一心。

7. 捨俱、邪見不相應、無行一心。

8. 捨俱、邪見不相應、有行一心。

這八種是貪俱心。

 

 

 

NOTES

 

Akusala: (adj) bad, evil, sinful, unhealthful; unskilled, unable  不善

Citta: (n) the mind, the heart; thought, idea; will, intention 

Lobha: (m) covetousness, desire, greed, lust 

Mūla: (n) root; lowest part, base, foundation; origin, source, commencement; front, foremost, first; cause; sum, amount, mass; price, money 

Tattha, tatra: (adv) there; thither; in that case; now; in that, therein

Katama: (adj) which? What?

Kāma: (m) desire, desired object; sensual pleasures, passion, lust 

Avacara: (m) sphere, realm, home 

Kāmāvacara: (adj) within the domain of sensual pleasure, belonging to the Kāmaloka  欲界

Somanassa: (n) joy, enjoyment, satisfaction  悅,喜

Sahagata: (adj) accompanying or associated with, joined to; connected with, based upon, imbued with, characterized by 

Diṭṭhi: (f) sight, view; the eye; religious belief, doctrine; false doctrine, heresy  見,邪見

Diṭṭhigata: (adj) connected with wrong view

Sampayutta: (pp. sampayuñjati) connected with, dependent on, resulting from  相應

Asakhārika: (adj) not instigated or prompted by oneself or others; unaffected, but done spontaneously  無行,未受煽動或影響;自發的

Eka: (adj) one, single; alone; a certain; the same; chief; unique

Sasakhārika: (adj) instigated, induced or prompted by oneself or others; unspontaneous  行,受到煽動或影響;非自發的 

Vippayutta: (adj) disconnected with  不相應

Upekkhā, upekhā: (f) indifference to pain and pleasure, equanimity, resignation 

Imāni: (pron. n.) these

Aṭṭha: (num) eight

Nāma: (adv) by name; indeed

 

 

 

 

1.4.2 二瞋根心(Dosamūla-cittāni

 

9. Domanassasahagataṃ paṭighasampayuttaṃ asaṅkhārikam ekaṃ.

10. Domanassasahagataṃ paṭighasampayuttaṃ sasaṅkhārikam ekan ti.

Imāni dve pi paṭighasampayuttacittāni nāma.

 

 

(Consciousness Rooted in Ill-will or Aversion)

 

9. One consciousness, unprompted, accompanied by displeasure, and connected with ill-will,

10. One consciousness, prompted, accompanied by displeasure, and connected with ill-will.

 

These two types of consciousness are connected with Ill-will.

 

 

憂俱、瞋恚相應、無行一心。

憂俱、瞋恚相應、有行一心。

這兩種是瞋恚相應心。

 

 

NOTES

 

Dosa: (m) anger, hatred 

Domanassa: (n) dejection, gloom, melancholy, grief 

Paigha: (m/n) anger, hatred  瞋恚

Dve: (num) two

 

 

 

 

1.4.3 二痴根心(Mohamūla-cittāni

 

11. Upekkhāsahagataṃ vicikicchāsampayuttam ekaṃ.

12. Upekkhāsahagataṃ uddhaccasampayuttam ekan ti.

Imāni dve’ pi momūhacittāni nāma.

Icc' evaṃ sabbathā pi dvādasākusalacittāni samattāni.

 

 

(Consciousness Rooted in Delusion or Ignorance)

 

11. One consciousness, accompanied by indifference, and connected with doubts,

12. One consciousness, accompanied by indifference, and connected with restlessness.

 

These two types of consciousness are rooted in sheer Ignorance.

 

Thus end, in all, the twelve types of Immoral Consciousness.

 

 

捨俱、疑相應、一心。

捨俱、掉舉相應、一心。

這兩種是純粹涉及痴的心。

如是總結,一共有十二不善心。

Moha: (m) delusion, error, folly, infatuation, ignorance; fainting, loss of consciousness 

Vicikicchā: (f) doubt, uncertainty 

Uddhacca: (n) restlessness, disquietude, mental distraction or confusion 掉舉

Momūha: (adj) silly, mad

Iti, ti, icc (before a vowel): (adv) thus

Evaṃ: (adv) thus

Sabbathā: (adv) in every way, thoroughly

Dvādasa: (num) twelve

Samatta: (pp) concluded; complete, entire, all

 

 

 

 

1.4.4 不善心之總結

 

Aṭṭhadhā lobhamūlāni

Dosamūlāni ca dvidhā

Mohamūlāni ca dve' ti

Dvādasākusalā siyuṃ

 

 

(Summary)

 

Eight are rooted in Attachment, two in Ill-will, and two in Ignorance.

Thus there are twelve types of Immoral Consciousness.

 

 

貪根心八種,

瞋二及痴二;

如是不善心,

共有十二種。

 

 

NOTES
