Chapter IX   Kammaṭṭhānasaṅgahavibhāgo（業處之概要）

9.1 序文

Samathavipassanānaṃ bhāvanānaṃ ito paraṃ

Kammaṭṭhānaṃ pavakkhāmi duvidham pi yathākkamaṃ.

Hereafter I will, in order, explain the two types of meditation subject for the respective development of calm and insight.

從這裡開始，我當解釋培育止與觀的兩種業處。

NOTES

Samatha: (m) calm, tranquility, quietude of heart; cessation 止，奢摩他

Vipassanā: (f) inward vision, insight, intuition, introspection 觀，毘缽舍那

Bhāvanā: (f) developing, attaining, being devoted to; meditation 修習

Ito: (adv) hence, from this time; from this world; ago; here

Paraṃ: (adv) beyond, after   [+abl.]

Ito paraṃ: (adv) hereafter, from here on

Kammaṭṭhāna: (n) (literally) the place of work, basis of action; each of the forty meditation subjects 業處

Pavakkhati: (fut.) he will tell, declare, recite     1^st sing. pavakkhāmi

Duvidha: (m, adj) twofold

Yathākkamaṃ: (adv) in due order, successively 依序
