錦城絲管日紛紛，

Music from Jincheng sometimes soft and sometimes loud,

半入江風半入雲。

half drifted to the windy river and half to the shifting cloud.

此曲只應天上有,

The music could only be played in Heaven,

人間能得幾回聞。

could seldom be heard in this mundane world.

PS  It is said the poem Master Du Fu wrote was a piece of lampoon, insinuating that an overbearing general in Chengdu had overstepped his authority in playing the music which could only be available in royal houses.
