昨夜雨疏風骤，

Last night was drizzling but blustery;

濃睡不消殘酒。

I awakened from a deep sleep with light hangover.

試問卷簾人，

the maid who was rolling up the drapes answered to my inquery 

却道海棠依舊。

"The begonias outside are still the same", carelessly

知否，知否？

"You know what?  You know what?

應是綠肥红瘦。

There should be lush leaves and falling flowers by now!",  I said.

PS The verse, along with its "twin" 《如夢令·常記溪亭日暮》that I translated the day before yesterday, is the dubut of Ms Li Qingzhao who was only sixteen then.  What an immortal genius she is!
