In its cover story of the latest issue, Japanese edition, Newsweek predicts a "picture of Japan in the future", in which a conclusion may let Japan worry about its days ahead.  The report says in eastern Asia China is the only super power, and Japan is at most a middle-class country on the periphery of China.  The situation has long been a normal condition in eastern Asia from ancient time, and now the relation between China and Japan is going back to nomal, inexorably.  (China is the super power only in eastern Asia, why not in whole Asia?)

Well, it doesn't take a prestigious magazine to make such a foregone conclusion.  Like I've always said that, from the viewpoint of history and geopolitics, as long as both China and Japan are on the same condition, no matter in agriculture stage, industry stage, or post-industry stage, Japan will never be a qualified rival to China.

P.S.  Still some of us lack confidence in our own culture and history, not just in Taiwan where has long been a cultural colony of Japan.  Not long ago, four young Mainlanders were found in former Jap military uniforms and took a picture in the front gate of Warehouse of Four Banks in Shanghai, which was the last post of Chinese army at 813 campaign in 1937, and now is a patriotic site in memory of those brave soliders in Resistance War against Japan.  The extreme antics towards philo-Japanese that four Mainladers displayed was just too much, but it also reflected a cruel fact that some of Mainlanders yet to believe in our history and culture, and they might become quilings(now the cultural ones) someday, somehow.  President Xi, please do something about it.

Why not in the entire world?

We may rest assured that she certainly will.
