Helen Chang(張姊)説我是個真正的學者(A true scholar)。她說的對。只不過我是真正的學習者(A true learner)。我不太用「學者」這個詞。中英文皆然。我有研究能力，但在文學創作(Creation)上，能力較差。 談元明清曲律與曲詞時我注意到兩者的對應。其實在英語歌曲上，我也同樣下了研究功夫，只不過自己很難寫出好詩或歌詞。中英語皆然。
這裡我介紹一首美國名曲->礦工的女兒給大家。可以看到創作者Loretta Lynn描述自己是礦工女兒的流年歲月，以及她的父母兄弟姐妹的愛。感人至深，往往使我淚盈滿眶。質勝文，在這首曲子上証實了人們重質(內容)的共通天性。Loretta Lynn自本曲之後，始終是民歌天后。 由於Loretta Lynn的教育關係，這首歌的歌詞是Raw English，甚至有點錯誤，沒人挑剔。又加上她的肯塔基鄉音，反而更感人。 我們可以看到本歌曲弦律始終重覆，這是敍事曲的必然。 在此，朋友可以看到藝術的創作，並不真的和教育水準有關。有時候，超過大學以上的教育封死了人的想像力，只能成為研究者。Loretta Lynn是個例子。她可能只有小學程度。 Stephen King是成功的小説家，他只有大學畢業。另一位小說家Joyce Carol Oates，很不幸讀了英文研究所。更不幸她又讀了博士班，幸好中途放棄了。她的小説比不上King。其中處處可感受到象徵主義及喻(Metaphors)的斧鑿，欠缺了意韻天成。不過她只是稍遜，同樣有名。她若把博士拿到了，大概只能在學校中教別人的作品了。 我貼出：Butcher holler原住屋、原曲演唱、英語歌詞、他人的中語翻譯、我做的校正與解説。.... 這是Loretta Lynn在Butcher Holler的木屋。在18:22/29:54以後的影片可看到她和家人的的木造住屋Cabin。 http://blog.udn.com/chf2013e/21270601
