"我記得，他所描述的校園，低矮的建築，灰色的瓦屋頂，團擁在相思林中。我優遊其間，雖然是年輕教師的角色，卻還是單身的尋夢的年紀，等待著出國留學的機會，在心情上與學生同樣飄浮不定。在當時的台灣，那個校園是經過明智的規劃，高水準的設計，是兼有傳統的詩情畫意與國際視野而構成的學習環境。回想起來，我們都是很幸運的。
很高興，他以細緻的文筆重新爲我找回記憶。他所描寫的幾座白色的建築，是我親眼看到它們從無到有，或實際參與畫圖所建造的生活空間，經他描述又重新生動起來了。我相信對於那個歲月成長在大度山的人們，及懷念台灣經濟起飛初期那段日子的朋友們，都會經由這本書，體味到台灣青少年時期的風情。"
