AMARYLLIS / HSIEH KUN HUA If Manjushri had tattooed the palm of his hand with flower, this Amaryllis would more than suffice. She is the Queen of Diamonds. The splendor and enjoyment of Lifes beauty is her passion. Her journey is a one of glorious awe that no one can compare. Known as Naked Lady, the amaryllis is in an open affair with carpenter bees. I care not for my Ladys soul, though I worship before her smile; I care not what triggers my Ladys sorrow, but freely for her I will let my tears flow. Low sit I down at my Ladys feet Looking up at her proud eyes into my soul her gaze pierces. I drink in the presence of her serenity Her lone shadow under the light is her greatest defiance against her eternal loneliness. An armored knight rides over, and plucks the amaryllis by her stem, and wears it as an insignia. She is now his talisman as he goes off to war. SONG OF A LOTUS FLOWER / TANG JUAN The lotus flower wades in shallow water, even and calm, lightning rods in her palm. Clarity after a night out drinking, her petals brighten in the beating suns rays. She glows of tranquility, yet the onlooker grows restless. Aloof and poised, she irons the sorrows off the surface of the pond. The swimming koi, frolicking insects, and croaking frogs, trapped inside her intense gaze. Sometimes she wakes up to spatial tension and awkward sting. Sometimes she falls asleep to obsidian songs of unknown origin. A pale-faced apparition, the round clear dews on her face, capture the sound of rain. |
