What is it like to be married to a caucasian in America?

When you two are madly in love, love is its own language. There is no language barrier. If there is, love can take care of it...most of the time. Oh, so you know what he wants when he grabs you in the arm and starts nimbling from your neck down. You thought its an intimate moment you have shared.

When you are not in the bed, you are probably in the kitchen. You try to cook him a dinner using his mom's recipe, which you think its so special. He takes you out to try some foreign cusines you have never had before...today italian, tomorrow tai. He takes you out shopping. He takes you out for movies. He takes you for trips to the north in the summer, south in the winter. You thought you can live like this forever.

Then you decide he is the one you want to marry since you are so much in love. Matter of fact you cannot wait to marry him...out of love.

Then it was a lovely wedding. Your parents came and left. They cried but you didnt understand why.

He's just back from work. Long day he said. Despite the fact that you have been sitting in the house all day ...as well. Oh, he forgets that you dont have a driver's license and a car...yet. He said he would buy one for you. Soon he said.

Then you start cooking for dinner. Chinese again he said. Well, you did not seem to complain when we were dating, honey, you said.

He turns the TV on for news. 5 more American sodiers died in Iraq today.... gasoline price reaches sky high as it is $3.58 today....GM motor laid off 500 white-collared workers in North America last month. You looked puzzled, honey, he said. Am I? Should I start looking for a job first? or should i wait later for starting a family? What if he gets laid off? Do we have enough to raise children?...all the thoughts now go round and round in your head.

Well then, we'd better stop renting and start buying a house. We'd better cook ourselves more and eating out less. We'd better staying in more and going out less. We'd better shop more at Wal-mart and less at Target. Then he asked you why you spent $3.99 on coffee at starbux. A**hole, I have been stretching myself so thin that I dont feel like myself anymore, you understand? Of course you did not tell him...cuz you dont know how...and you still love him, of course.

He pays the rent, the electricity, the water, the car payment, the grocery, and your expenses. You think you are entitled to it. But you dont have a bank account, its a joint account. You dont have a credit card, its your co-card. You dont have a job. You dont have a car. You dont have friends. You dont have family. Its all your honey's. Oh dont forget that its not even your language when you are trying to be fluent at.

All you have is a caucasian men in America you think you love...and yourself.

為了找那朵花

那朵像眼淚似的春花﹐我在院中發現了兩朵。

飲食一事﹐不用介意。

即使吃我的菜長大的三個孩子﹐一盤菜要炒出三種味道。

是我太寵他們嗎?

but a mother would NEVER love their kids TOO MUCH...

it just makes it harder for their spouses to continue on.
