Passed Road
Coming out from Admiralty. Passing through Lung Wo Road to HK Station

I left the path led to the Square,
Passing the sea of shouts in those days.
The invisible sea and cries
Still linger nights and days.

The demolished pier is replaced by
Metal barricades, layers and layers.
Haunted boats are still drifting.
The tides are still breathing, low or high.

In between the Civic Square and the City Hall
There is the Barracks!
In between IFC and the Barracks,
There stands The Glorious Dead!

How many ways to leave the Square?
How many Squares are even now straying?
Bulldozer has got rust again
On the new land reclaimed

We left to hope for
The branches flourish again.
Let’s give the scars in our hands
In exchange for your bullet holes.

No matter whether the dawn will gush
From this shot wound or not,
Abandoned village is ingrained.
After the thunderstorm, we turn into rainwater.

In Praise of Objects

Pepper is no longer used against carrot cake
But is used to burst fry our eyeballs
The spray is sprayed out, causing the city to lose its way

Plastic wrap no longer serves tomorrow’s stomach
But is used to keep yesterday’s heart fresh
So that it is still painful and angry

Gas is no longer used against cold and hunger
But is used for education of “Love”
IF you do not love, it will let you know the concentration of hate

Those wearing goggles are not welders in
This world, they are stalkers wearing goggles
Who swim through sky high reefs, and greet the night

The umbrella is turned inside out, like a wind blowing from the two hands
Like wishing to pour old rain on new dogs
People under the umbrella, cannot distinguish between left and right for the rime being

The road no longer bears the clockwork of the alarm clock
The flood that has been started, now it is a bed
That allows lovers night after night to sneak over

The umbrella is broken, like the rainbow is broken as well
But when we retreat, we will leave behind everywhere
Colours of the rainbow that are dyed as colourful birds

Night and Fog
A visit to Mongkok

Mongkok, there I came, at that late night
The dust on the Nathan were aged as stardust,
It reminded me our good old scene,
Whispering: We’d once lost our serene.

It likes our umbrellas, invisible or colourful
It likes our steps, soft, or sometimes dancing
When we touch, to graze or embrace, I was told,
similarly, it’d once lightened up with a match beaming.

I am fragile as the Argyle,
No more crab canon I would listen
We, raised dust, will never bow down again
Once set free, as water flows, ever unrecoverable.

Night resumes as fog, tiptoeing
Another Mongkok, as unicorn prepares, quietly static
It’s been long, you can still recall your whiz
It’s been long, the Nathan roared as tidal wave.
