You know I am a married woman, still you present me a pair of bright pearls. As a token of appreciation for your being so thoughtful, I bind them onto my red silk bodices. I live in a mansion adjacent to royal garden, and my husband is an armed officer serving in palace. Your heart is as an overt sign as the Sun and the Moon to me, but I have vowed to myself that I will accompany my husband untill our journey in this world is over. So in tears I must return the pearls to you; how I regret not to have met you in my maiden days. P.S. I was inspired to translate subject famous poem when I read the internet article that is attached below, in which the author insinuated that Scraps Song is not like a woman of chastity; instead, a woman of easy virtue. http://www.toutiao.com/a6339261681769005313/
