雙語思考：

問題：中文有“相中”、“看中”、“合某人的意”等說法，英文有相對應的說法嗎?
例如：我看中了那張桌子，於是就買了下來。

這句話如果直譯，就成了：I caught a fancy of that table, so I bought it.
很不自然，應該改成：
1) That table caught / took my fancy, so I bought it.
2) That table was to my liking, so I bought it.

NOTE：to catch / take one's fancy 和 to be one's liking / taste 的意思是"合意"或"中意"，即"讓人看上"，主詞是"被看上的人或物"。 如：

1. 那個叫瑪麗的女孩很合他的意。The girl named Mary has caught his fancy.
2. 他找遍旅館廣告，直到有一家合他的意。He looked through the advertisements until one of the hotels took his fancy.
3. 先生，餐點合您的口味嗎？Was the meal to your liking, Sir?
4. 這件外套正好合我的意。This jacket is just to my taste.

NOTE："看中"、"看上"和"相中"如果是"經過選擇而合意或滿意"。可以說成：to take a fancy to , to take a liking to 等，主詞是"看上別人或物的人"。如：

5. 那個面試官的如果能看上你就好了。It would be nice if that interviewer took a liking to you.

NOTE："看中"如果還有"經過深思熟慮而決定選擇"。英語可以用to settle on , to choose , to make a choice of 等。如：

6. 她在店裡看中一雙紅色鞋子。In the shop, she settled on a pair of red shoes.
