Only a flicker 既非充裕亦非虛空。只是一個晃動 Over the strained time-ridden faces 位在扭曲的飽經風霜的臉龐上 Distracted from distraction by distraction 從一個分心之物被分心到另一個分心之物 Filled with fancies and empty of meaning 充滿幻想並且了無意義 Tumid apathy with no concentration 膨脹的漠然不帶任何專注 Men and bits of paper, whirled by the cold wind 人與紙片，迴旋於冷風 That blows before and after time, 那風吹拂於時間之前與之後， Wind in and out of unwholesome lungs 風進出病態的肺部 Time before and time after. 以前的時間與往後的時間。 Eructation of unhealthy souls 嘔出不健康的靈魂 Into the faded air, the torpid 併入陳腐的空氣，那萎靡之物 Driven on the wind that sweeps the gloomy hills of London, 承載於風，橫掃倫敦陰鬱的山丘， Hampstead and Clerkenwell, Campden and Putney, 漢普斯德與克拉肯威，坎普頓與普特尼 Highgate, Primrose and Ludgate.
