(今後希望每週都有的英文書寫) Out of the media town to see the dawn I have come back and stayed in Taipei with friends all around in TV media for these times. Most of them now seem already given up their dreams or efforts, and fallen into the deeply swamp of sighs for their careers in twilight zone. But what I have seen, frankly, is some of the right ways to the right direction in reformation for the media business. I hope there could be a seat for me, to see the gleams of dawn together with some smarter guys. As the market restructuring starts up by the lack of commercial market support, I would look forward the future rather than the sentiments or gossips. I think I can see what will be happening in the vision of channels competition in Taiwan. And I am sure that if it has me and my capabilities, greater things and steps could be initiated. But I also understand that there are teams of local talents had worked for their vague expectation in general, I finally intend to develop overseas career upon different dreams. Now it is very rare to meet someone could really make me thrilled in media, so I can only rely on my self. And as the consciousness to the fact among the factors, I want to propose the correct position for me as an advisor, where I really think could be good for all. I have more interests now in Media merging and Marketing strategy related, especially focusing upon the “Content Management”. There must be someone really understanding how to restart or redefine from “Media” mindset, together with the pan Asia connection, hardware experiences and investing senses. I think I am quite matched with it after my 40’s, where it should be very close to the financial nerves and company image heartbeats for the TV media. In my eyes, the first factor is that “The media have always paid too much than they should or could afford”. The reversed solutions to meet with the issue are to “cut the budget” or “duplicate the influence”. Now the urgent case for any TV media is to have someone with experienced volition to deal with all the “TV channel issues”; including real time strategies negotiating with the content providers, knowing what they have and what they want and what we can get, finally smiling tenderly for cooperation and piercing sharply to the cost. And even investing new project should be linked with the total-value-map of “contents” in why and how, such as producing programs by highly integrated work flow or end goal. The second challenging factor is “TV channels are losing viewers”. Since the managing power in TV Media is suspending in “idea” level rather than “strategy” map. Marketing is very weak and conservative, and lack of dynamic sense and clear focus to lead the long-lasting attention of the public. The marketing structure of TV Media should be based on its own “Media Strategy” which is far beyond as the service tool for Sales numbers. I have strong will to improve anything related to this shortage, because it is just like to dress up a pretty girl who has dirt and mud on her face. And the very ultimate factor of TV business landscape is that “How to create or add the investing/market value for TV Media along the way to sell it at last”. It may be hard to conclude what and how I understand the ideal pyramid for a “Media value”, also the virtual meanings for the TV business, and mostly the unique skill to generate channels or contents beyond the limited financial sequences. Only ever the solid participation in board of commissioner experiences and investor background can do all along the process but still reflect the core value and the end goal simultaneously. Meanwhile, for the pan Asia media market, the predicted understanding and concrete connection with the trend of China could be a must. TV media needs some extraordinary mindset and communication paths among the themes of China augmentation. These are the conditions and position what I think it compatible to my future fists and wings. Rather than to establish a new channel, the management of channels and competition for the future market bring the real fun and achievement to a media guy like me. The most brilliant things are always originated by the balanced mind with serious attitude. I have slightly proven it in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China myself, and for me now, it will be greater to prove overseas since I have seen some charming celestial system around some decent guys there. Always someone worth a while or something to create, the truth for a regretless stay during the life journey is to be brave to penetrate the dreams. I wish the destined guys in my near future have heard my call of learning, and also have seen my belief of sharing. |
