妳知道芭比娃娃的由來嗎？芭比娃娃的誕生，是從媽媽的愛


心開始。


芭比娃娃由原創人Ruth Handler女士，於1959年，正式在


紐約市上市量產。Ruth Handler女士有一個女兒，名叫


Barbara，Barbie的名字就是從她女兒而來。


為什麼小女孩都喜歡芭比？Ruth Handler女士發明芭比娃娃


前，小女生只有紙娃娃可以玩，而且她發現，小女孩喜歡把


娃娃裝扮成大人的模樣：給娃娃美麗的禮服、美美的高跟


鞋、梳一個美麗髮型的興趣，遠高於玩baby模樣的娃娃。於


是包含著小女孩夢想的芭比娃娃誕生了，她是一個正常人很


難擁有的身材比例：36-18-38！


而她在問市後十年之內，有關芭比娃娃的產銷總值，則高達


五億美元！芭比誕生後的第二年，1960年，芭比的男友Ken


(named after Ms. Handler's son)，也跟著問世。

This is a story of 4 good friends, Anna, Barbara,


Cathelina, and Diana.  


We call them the ABCD Club.


0ne sunny day, they decided to have fun together.





Anna said to Barbara: “Let's call 


Cathelina & Diana and have them 


come over."


“That's a good idea!"said Barbara.








It didn't take very long to have the 


ABCD Club get together.








Anna picked up the pink top 


and said: “It's time to make 


ourselves pretty! How about this 


pretty top? I think it is perfect for 


our field trip today! What do you 


say?"





“How about this beautiful fancy 


gown?"Barbara asked.


“It looks nice, but it's too much 


for today's trip if you would dress 


like that!"Diana replied.


“You're 100 percet right. I will 


look silly if I wore an evening gown 


to the field trip!”Barbara said.








“Look at these lovely shoes. We 


have a pair of boots, slippers, high-


heel shoes, and sneakers.


“I vote for sneakers because it will 


give my feet a break."Cathelina said.








"The next thing is to decide which 


bag I am going to use!"Anna said.


"I would like to have the pink and 


round bag.  It looks big enough for 


me to carry a lot of things."Anna 


finally made her decision.








Cathelina & Barbara looked at each 


other and said: "How pretty we 


are! We are going to have a very 


happy day."








Diana said: "Look at me!  I've


already put on my hat and my


bag.  I am ready to go!"








The ABCD Club: "Good-bye everyone, 


we are going to our trip.  Come on, 


don't sit on the couch, get moving!"
