Yesterday morning I joined a tour party to visit a wisteria garden located somewhere in Tamsui. It was a beautiful day, and there were a host of vistors that packed into the garden which had been specifically designed for cultivating wisteria, a kind of plant that is grown by clinging to and climbing up through the cane to the trellis where it blossoms in efflorescence for only two weeks or so during every March of the years. The purple flowers of wisteria hanging down there are really a sight for sore eyes, but all I could see in the garden were funny gestures posed for picture taken. There were so many visitors swarming in the garden that made me feel a little dizzy, and it seemed I could not breathe any more. So I exited the garden quite earlier than scheduled and walked thru the narrow, undulating mountain road to the place where our bus was waiting. Along the road, there were a long, long queue of various vehicles, carrying newcomers who were axious for the flowers, but they were all stuck in the cars, cursing, I guessed. I noticed a few of those vehicles were classy cars, driven by young people. I wondered how did they have leisure time for "fun" on a weekday, how come they did not need to work, and where did their money come from? Thanks not to God; It is a bad Friday! |
