Yesterday my daughter invited us to watch a kind of hot rod show called Monster Jam at Oakland Athletics’ stadium at Coliseum. For the show, the field of the baseball stadium was changed from green turf to mud ground, on which those gigantic hot rods roared out ear-splitting sound, performing the spectacular stunts of all kinds, including a flip in the air with 360 degrees. (Some of the vehicles ended up with upside down.) The stunts, performed by ten hot rods decorated in zombie. pirate, shark, grim reaper, etc., entertained nearly ten thousand audience, including my two granddaughters. I do not appreciate the entertainments of amusement park in kind; they are a little shallow-dish cultures to me. Well, we just cannot expect too much for a young country less than 250 years like America. PS Prior to entering into the stadium, I also watched a motorcycle show on the outside open area. That was even more exciting, and I loved it much better. |
