雪曉清笳亂起。夢遊處、不知何地。

Pipes were playing in the morning after snowing.  Where was I in my dream. 

鐵騎無聲望似水。

The iron-armored cavalry were marching silently on like a rolling stream.

想關河，雁門西，青海際。

It must have been at the frontier: west of Yanmen, nearing Lake Qinghai.

睡覺寒燈裡。漏聲斷、月斜窗紙。

When awaken in faint lamplight, I found the hourglass had stopped and moonbeam slantly lit through paper window. 

自許封侯在萬里。

I reckoned I was still able to be a general out there fighting a battle. 

有誰知，鬢雖殘，心未死。

But who would know, though my hair had been gray and thin, the spirit in serving my country was still high.
