When he Berthed the boat at a sandbar shrouded in mist,

日暮客愁新。

at dusk a new gloom cast shadow over his heart.

野曠天低樹，

The vast open skies looked lower than the nearby trees,

江清月近人。

but the Moon reflected in the clear water seemed closer to lonesome travellers.
