In his "Of the people" of Three Principles, Dr. Sun Yat-shen said the restoration of national confindence is among the most important things to do for Chinese people.  It is still now.

China now is the biggest country in the world with annual volume of vehicle  manufactured and sold.  Some other reports said the famous two-decked, red buses in London today are electrical ones made by China's BYD.  Some countries' police patrol cars are made of China also, such as those in Egypt, Cuba, and so on.  Nevertheless, national makes are not that popular in Mainland herself.  You know, except minority of luxurious import cars, all moving vehicles in Mainland are made of China, the only difference is whether they are domestic brands or joint-ventured ones.  Okay, you may say the joint-ventured cars are more reliable, but I believe the gaps are narrowing.  After all, car making is not kind of job that requires cutting edge of technology or skill like that of missile or satellite, or even high-speed railway.

Therefore, I think the question is Chinese people hasn't build up 100%confidence in themselves.  They must restore national self-confidence before they can march forward to great revival.
