幾年前的一個冬天，大概小寶七八年級的時候，有一天我提早下班，正好差不多是小寶放學的時間，此時天空開始飄起雪花，於是我將車子開到平常他下校車的地方等他．其實下車的地方離家不會太遠，雪也不是太大，走回家不是問題；問題是美國學校的課本都是精裝本，又厚又重，一天五本，小朋友的書包是又大又重，載他回家只想減輕他背書包的負擔． 我將車子熄火停在轉角，我的媽啊～這十一月天怎麼就這麼冷啊！就算我躲在車子裡，寒風還是一個勁的往骨頭裡鑽．等了五分鐘，身體開始打哆嗦，不行不行，趕快發動引擎開暖氣，可是車子沒有在動，暖風也來得不快，反而更冷． 校車終於來了，從照後鏡看到第一個下車的小寶，而他也看到我，小跑步的到我的車窗旁邊，跟我說：「媽，我想跟她們走．」我往小寶的身後望過去，此時一群女生從他的背後走過，像國慶閱兵時阿兵哥走過司令台一樣，全部對我行注目禮！我的眼神也隨著她們的移動遊移．沒禮貌，都沒叫人．「好啦，好啦！那你把書包放到車上，我幫你拿回去．」．．．眼看著她們已經走了一小段距離，我催他說：「快快～快點跟上她們！」 轉了三個小彎我到家了，不一會兒工夫，小寶也進了家門，而咱兩前後差不到兩三分鐘．小寶啊！你老媽好心去接你下課，頂著刺骨寒風，結果卻成為一個搬運書包的工人，還擔心你慢了跟別人說不到話．而就這幾分鐘，你到底可以多說到幾句話啊！不過，這個老媽我～懂！
上星期我經過小寶的書桌，看到他對著電腦螢幕傻笑，那笑容不是看到喜劇的笑、不是看到笑話的笑，而是甜甜的發自內心的微笑；唉～老媽是過來人了，這不尋常的笑，肯定有蹊蹺．於是我提高音量的逗他說：「哎喲喲～在看什麼？笑得這麼開心，交女朋友了喲～」 他很用力的回說：「沒有啦！」 我說：「我又沒有不准你交女朋友？有喜歡的人很正常啊！」 他說：「我有一個喜歡的人．」 中！一味的禁止，小孩是什麼也不會跟你說的，小寶秉性善良，一下子就被老媽套出來了． 「哦～那她喜歡你嗎？」 「我不知道！」 「那她知道你喜歡她嗎？」 「不知道！」真是個小傻瓜！ 「那她是 Chinese 嗎？」 接下來他就不回答了，做娘的要知道適可而止，這種狀況再追問下去，就什麼也別想知道了．不過，我也沒有鼓勵他，畢竟他才十幾歲，眼前還有其他重要的事情要做，將來還有大把的時間可以談戀愛呢．我要讓他知道我沒有禁止，但也不鼓勵． 今天小寶過生日，離上次我寫他的生日已經五年了．他已經從一個小孩，變成一個小生了．明天他就可以申請臨時駕照，半年後考完路考，就可以拿正式駕照了．臨時駕照的意思是，在這半年裡，他如果要開車，旁邊必須有個有駕照的大人陪伴著．那麼我就趁著這半年，盡量的要求他帶我去這兒、送我去那兒，等到拿到正式駕照，那坐在他旁邊的女性，就很難是他老媽了！哈哈．．． 對他的祝福仍然一樣，祝福他平平安安、健健康康、快快樂樂、找到一個愛他而他也愛的老婆，幸福美滿！而這最後一項最～重～要！
