愛丁堡最好的酒館

對剛從愛丁堡開會回來的人來說，愛丁堡大學醫學院最有名的校友，是"柯南道爾"（Sir Arthur Conan Doyle）；愛丁堡最棒的雕像，是1991由世界知名泌尿醫師、愛丁堡皇家外科學會主席Geoffrey D. Chisholm揭幕的"福爾摩斯雕像"，位在Picardy place 11號以前柯南道爾的家門前。 (本人很沒水準罷...

而心目中愛丁堡最好的酒館，叫"柯南道爾"（The Conan Doyle ）～遙望福爾摩斯雕像，牆上掛滿福爾摩斯相關海報，酒館高朋滿座，來的幾乎都是當地人，看比賽與聊天。網上的評價差異頗大，最有趣的是一個女生寫的 I had the time of my life at the Conan Doyle! As an American woman traveling alone, imagine my surprise when I was "kidnapped" by a bunch of nuns whilst I was dining on my haggis(鄭重推薦勿輕易嘗試) , taddiesand ’neeps. Turns out, the Sing-Along Sound of Music was in town and these "nuns" were partying it up at the Conan Doyle before showtime and hijacked an American Catholic girl that just happened to be at the Conan Doyle herself!! What a great time! I go to the Conan Doyle every time I’m in Edinburgh and can’t wait to go again.

Sherlock Holmes是有「智識」以來愛上的第一個男人，雖然柯南道爾一度很討厭自己筆下的人物到極點，形容福爾摩斯像是「吃過量的鵝肝，聽到就恶心」，然而他大概沒想過，愛戴福爾摩斯的人，可能不亞於愛戴鵝肝的人。

在倫敦，幾番經過貝克街地鐵站，並沒有興趣下去前往"福爾摩斯紀念館"，太商業化了，且書中的地址，根本不存在現實世界當中，更與該館沒有關係。

鍾情書本中的福爾摩斯，一個無法被販賣的自傲男子。

柯南道爾不喜歡福爾摩斯但福爾摩斯卻讓柯南道爾舉世聞名不過，傳奇終究只存在書中現實雖不如小說撲朔迷離卻比小說更讓人暈頭轉向

這是電視影集的片頭福爾摩斯常常笑華生醫生字跡潦草，醫術平庸。^++++^ 也不想想，就是因為他門可羅雀，生意清淡，才可以跟福爾摩斯到處亂跑啊~~~ 看這兩個人的互動很好玩，華生常被福爾摩斯酸也沒法反擊，像是SM，一個願打，一個願挨，真是絕配！囧rz... 我的blog【拾夢記--回不去的Brideshead】，或是我與tinal關於Brideshead Revisited的對話

It only categorize as narrow minded, not classless. I am even worse. I thought Edinburgh is well known for the annual performing arts festival, Edinburgh Festival(?), and for the Hogmanay street party. To me, every place is all about party and bars...

So, you got it all actually, except the 泌尿科part. I mean myself "沒水準", since Edinburgh is famous of its Medieveal and Renaissance architectures, not a 1991 stature. I mentioned 泌尿科是為了強調名醫界也大方擁抱其"傑出校友". Doyle didn't do well in his medical career, and I cannot find his name on the list in the dinner party in Royal College of Scotland.

已將文章再修整一下.....應該可懂了, 想不到我的國語退步這麼快亞森羅蘋, 大一點(小五左右)就覺他太愛耍"法國帥", 不似拘謹沉穩的福先生說到這, 英國型頑固其實也忒可怖, 我們一行三人在尼斯某酒館, 居然不給坐漂亮的採光室, 因為那些方桌只安排給2 or 4人坐, 規定我們要坐其他室內陰暗角落的圓桌....

This is the 4th day I read this article, ever since early morning. I thought I couldn't understand it because I was on the conference call with my Cambridge office in the same time... However, now I find my break and try to read it again. Chisholm揭幕的"福爾摩斯雕像"，在Picardy place 11號以前柯南道爾的家前。 (很沒水準罷...) "福爾摩斯雕像"， Picardy place 11號" Did you meant the "福爾摩斯雕像"， is located in front of 11, Picardy place, where Doyle lives before? It is the only reasonable explanation to me. Looks like I am not the only one thinking in English... But still, why (很沒水準罷...)???? Something to do with 泌尿醫師 ???

一直對他沒興趣太悶了吧! 亞森羅蘋倒是我的偶像ㄋㄟ! 對酒館倒是甚感興趣外鄉的日子裡酒館真是去消磨時間了解當地的最佳去處之一
