Our new year Dear YP: Gald to receive your warm greeting and the warmly written poem. I too wish you and family a successful and happy year of Tiger. We had a big snow storm early this week so now the outside world is totally covered by silver snow, nice and beautiful. However, the wild geese and seagulls are still roaming around in or above the Hudson River. Since the economy seems gradually recovering, so people are in better mood now. There are several Chinese families and several Chinese-American couples in our apartment building (Total about 200 families in this building). One couple fo them suggested we all organized a new year party tomorrow evening in our nicely decorated grand lobby (a big hall for social occasions) down at the first floor. Each family will bring one or two dishes of home-made food to share with others and invite all other families in the building to join us to celebrate the lunar new year. The other families mostly are AAmerican but they are various origins including Russian, Jewish, Polish, as well as some Korean and one Thailand. so it should be fun to have them to be with us. Particularly there is one Taiwanese who married a American lady and had two lovely kids residing at the same 4th floor with us (Our building only has 4 floors in total). He was very friendly to us and was excited that Moon could even talk Taiwanese to him. He is fat but also like sweet food like 甜年糕，etc. He got quite a few nice sweet rice-cakes from Taiwan and asked me to help to share those sweeties so he could hopefully reduce his unhealthy diet. So I am pleased to help him and have a good time in the lunar new year. holidays Best and love to you. DaGeGe
