Several public buildings including a hospital were flooded.

n.

v.

flood

claim (奪去生命) / hit (入侵) / ravage (毀壞) / reach (抵達) / recede (後退)/ rise (上漲) / spread (散佈) / swamp (淹沒)

例句:

The floods have claimed 26 lives.

Floods have reached the building at around one meter high.

Flood waters have largely receded.

Malaysian authorities have shut schools and evacuated more than 12,000 people as floodwaters rise in two northern states.

n.

n.

cause (引起) / tame (馴服)

flood

例句:

More rain is forecast for the region, but it is not expected to cause major flooding.

adj.

n.

destructive (破壞性的) / devastating (毀滅性的) / flash (突如其來的) / severe (嚴重的)

flood

例句:

The country began recovering from devastating floods.

Central Vietnam has recently been hit by two other rounds of severe flooding, which killed 141 people.

Always "floods" and never "a flood"?

"Flood" ~ a countable noun?

"Floods"~ use "have" instead of "has"?

I find it difficult to explain this.

Can you help me?
