hi...
It looks very similar to butternut squash! Since I never heard of banana squash, so at first I thought u had butternut squash! but a I did a bit of research on this...
butternut squash is very popular because it's so easy to use. It's small enough to serve a normal family without leftovers, and the rind is thin enough to peel off with a vegetable peeler. As an added bonus, the flavor is sweet, moist, and pleasantly nutty
banana squash is so large that grocers usually cut into smaller chunks before putting it out. It's tasty, but its biggest virtue is the beautiful golden color of its flesh. Substitutes: butternut squash
I used to use butternut squash to cook "pumpkin soup" and "pumpkin pie" almost every winter... for Thanksgiving and family gathering..
Everytime I cooked it, I always added a bit of twist... so first time eaters were quite please!!
This year, I still bought a butternut squash, but havent cooked it yet! I think I was kinda tired of making pumpking soup!
It's a very great winter squash... lots of nutrients and gives us the heart-warming feeling while eating it!
