| 1. 大道汜兮，其可左右。 偉大的天道充塞寰宇，祂就在你我的左右。 The great Word of Heaven pervades the universe, and he is with you and me. 2. 萬物恃之以生而不辭，功成不名有。 萬物倚靠天道而生存但祂卻不炫耀，有偉大成就卻不自居其功。 All creatures rely on the Word but he does not flaunt his work; with great achievements yet he does not keep them for self. 3. 愛養萬物而不為主，常無欲，可名於小。 天道用慈愛生養萬物卻不主宰它們，祂沒有想要擁有什麽，寧可以藐小自居。 The Word of Heaven nourish the world with love but does not manipulate it; and he has no desire to own anything and behaves like nobody. 4. 萬物歸焉而不為主，可名於大！ 萬物都歸屬於天道，但祂不自居為主宰，真是偉大！ The universe belongs to the Word however he does claim as the lord, how great he is! 5. 是以聖人終不為大，故能成其大。 聖人遵行天道始終都不自以為大，才成就了他個人的偉大。 The righteous follows the Word of Heaven thereby does not regard himself a great, this lets him achieve his greatness. ================ JSLieh |
