This is the 10th week that Hubby was laid off since first week of March.

I kinda liked it at the beginning though. Mostly because he did the house chores that I did not like doing. Cleaning the cat litter, feeding the kitty cats, going food shopping, cooking, doing dishes, unloading the dishes, laundry, vacuuming the house, and scrubbing the bathtub and sinks.

IT WORKS FOR ME. It's like having a Mom living with me. For Hubby though I can sense that his temper mellows down a lot. We fought less. For the first time in 9 years I have felt that my marriage is hopeful. Hubby returns back to the easy-go-lucky, sweet little guy I used to date.

But we did lose Hubby's income to the family bank account. I figure we could survive by eating out less, shopping less, travelling less. Living frugally but happily is a trade-off. Besides, I have been mentally prepared for this day to come for so long that I did not feel much cringe right away.

Cringe starts slowly showing up when Joe, my younger brother-in-law, comes into the picture, however.

First of all, as his only sister-in-law I should not be judgemental. But for someone who has just passed 50, still has had no real jobs (since 1980's), has lived in his old folk's basement for the last 20 years with his own 2 kids, has not shown any signs of moving out, has filed bankcrupsy twice and the recent one was a malignant set-up, a self-pitiful, pathetic, bitter atheist. He is a piece of NO GOOD LOSER.

But Hubby believes that Joe can help him learn how to day trade. FOR GOD'S SAKE, if he knew how to day trade and could make a living out of it, he would have moved out of that moldy basement long time ago. Obviously Joe is NOT that good he thinks he is.

After 2 weeks of staying in my house from 9 to 3 including some Saturdays and Sundays, setting up 5 computer screens on my beautiful dinning room table, occupying my computer space during my days off, Hubby put in 15 grands to set up a joint account with Joe to day trade.

HOLY JESUS!

Then 2 weeks later after they set up the account and one week after they actually traded, they lost estimated 5 grands one Friday when I was working my ass off at the bedside in the hospital. I said "estimated" because Hubby was unwilling to let me know the real damage, which inactivated their account.

Now I have 2 grown asses sitting in my basement to "practice" trades.

hello, purr,
are you going to implement  any further plans/actions to deal with THESE 2 BIG kids in your basement or dining room?

i told Hubby long time ago that he is the "provider" of this house and that if he could not afford to pay the house morgage and the expenses, then that would be the end of our marriage. so far the "honor system" works. fingers crossed!
