蠟炬成灰淚始干。A candle burns out to ashes when it has shed its last tear.

曉鏡但愁云鬢改，In front of the morning mirror, you would worry about your color-changing hair.

夜吟應覺月光寒。 In the middle of a moonlit night, I should mourn for my heartbreaking coolness.

蓬山此去無多路，We are parted by that not-remote but impassable Mt. Penglai,

青鳥殷勤為探看。I am hoping there is a blue bird as a diligent messenger for us.
