錦里開芳宴， In splendid night the married couples have love feasts,   

蘭缸艷早年。 while those unmarried brighten among delicate lanterns 

縟彩遙分地， Dividing the earth into pieces are flamboyant colors;

繁光遠綴天。 spreading into horizon are the luminescent lights.

接漢疑星落， Those faraway fiery dots are just like falling stars;

依樓似月懸。 the one by tower as the moon hanging on skies.

別有千金笑， Also there are smiling faces from lovely lassies,

來映九枝前。 casting glow beneath the glorious lantern clusters.

From all of the three great poems, we can see that Lantern Festival is a joyful and romantic day in Chinese tradition.  I would like to see either government across the strait could make law on the day as Lovers’ Day.
