The "mid-term" election in Taiwan was over, and KMT got landslide victory over DPP. Some political critics thought the phenomenon was a pendulum effect, or a swing. Some Blue lovers might optimistically think KMT has great opportunity to regain the power. But Taiwan is quite different. Usually, the mid-term election mostly reflects the attitude of voters toward an administration in its first-half governing performance, and such propensity will affect the coming major election, for example, president election in America. But such an effect may not duplicate in Taiwan because by the time the attitude of American and the reaction of China Mainland will play a significant role toward the result. Therefore, the mid-term election in Taiwan is likely an examination upon the incumbent government, but it may not create a pendulum effect upon "president" effect. So morbid, so pathetic (in self-amusement). |
