The other day an erstwhile colleague forwarded me an e-mail under the title of "假設大陸統一台後可能狀況", in which only four videos attached, nothing else. The first one is a part of a TV drama that illustrating how the women soliders of Taiping Heaven Kingdom were cruelly treated after Qing army finally took Nanjing, the second one is a documentary film of how some Manchurians, soldiers and civilians, were massacred by revolutionary army after 1911 revolution. The last two describe how low-income residents in Beijing were forcibly relocated in municipal gentification.
The videos strongly hint when the unification takes place, that will be a tragedy to the people of Taiwan. Let me tell you, guys, albeit being a brave and ruthless army on battlefields, PLA has had no record of killing POWs or civilians, ever. As far as I know, China's Mainland always compensate the relocated residents by providing them with new houses to settle down. (That is why I don't want to attach the videos here, for I think they will contaminate my blog and will insult the intelligence of my readers'.)
In order not to let those fallacies spread around, I simply responded to the e-mail sender, and all other recipients, with the following comments:
這種論調不值一駁， 我們看看香港的例子就好。 回歸後只有港英買辦/港獨份子受些影響，而內地一直把香港當老子ㄧ般地供養著，現在更不惜血本連港珠澳大橋和直通地鐵都快建好了。 由此推論， 比香港大得多的臺灣一旦統一，大陸能不顧海內外的觀瞻嗎？ 能委屈臺灣同胞嗎? 屆時受影響的只有那些日奴和美狗，尤其是前者。 其他人，除了當官的頭銜小了ㄧ點外, 一切照舊。 有解放軍保護我們，臺灣可以全力發展經濟；稅收不必上繳，不用當冤大頭買自備狗糧，不必當外交凱子，人民有錢了， 我也不必擔心我的勞退年金了。
記住，中國大陸對臺灣沒有深仇大恨, 只有萬般不捨的兄弟情.
