雲南遊(五)---九鄉

Unlike the limestones "grown" outdoors up from grounds at 石林, 九鄉s are "hidden" in caves(the so-called Karst cave or solutional cave).  Report says the cave of 九鄉 is one of the greatest solutional cave in the world.  In short, it is an underground Grand Canyon.

Again, the cave is a geogrphical wonder, and only experts are able to tell us how has it been so formed throughout aeons.  All of the things tourist have to do is riding an elevator up to the top of the canyon and started their journey downwards.  Through sinuous, up-and-down, and even precipitous paths we were led to the bottom of the cliff, where a stream of roaring rapids are flowing out of nowhere.  You can see the galloping waters are split by a huge rock and then falling drastically into two precipices as to form a spectacular dual cascades.  After that, the water becomes a stretch of peaceful brook on which tourists can ride on small steamers to take a leisurely view on the gorgeous scene of the gorge.

While I am focusing on the stream underneath the cave, I must point out the stones are likewise fantastic.  Those colorful spotlights and complete facilities have made the cave a fairyland of nature and artifact combined.

P.S.  The tour on the cave made me think of my previous visit on 天坑, and my writing at http://blog.udn.com/kkuo0810/12116526
