夜思 (Nocturnal Revery)








圓月掛在昏暗的天際，






From a gloomy sky hangs the full moon，






夜漸深, 人們開始沉入夢境，






The night is gradually deep; the people start to sink to the dreamland.





淺睡到晨,殘存的酒意還未消掉，






And shallow sleep did not dispel the effects of wine，






只有模糊難識的雁兒之影。






Only then a solitary swan is on the blurred 
horizon.
 



沒有人覺察牠心中的孤寂，






But nobody perceives in its heart’s aloneness；






只有水波蕩漾,清冷的月影默默無聲；






Only below, in ripples the silent moon 
glows；






好友守約而來,卻又急於走上歸程。






My friend kept tryst but left me all soon.






秋夜蓋著單薄的棉被,睡了又醒，






Waking under my cotton quilt this autumn night,






夢裡的萬里江山還在眼前搖晃；






I still see our magnificent land stretching
 to infinity；






最愛登上高樓,想說什麼又罷休，






Loved to climb towers, on the tip of my 
tongue,






卻說 ”好一個清涼的秋天”。






But Instead I say, “What a fine cool autumn day！”
