| 最近偶爾看到這個片語, 雖然它不是很正式, 也不算常看到, 但還是把它重新整理一下. 據說kibosh一字是來自於阿拉伯語 “qurbāsh,” 用來形容一個懲罰用的鞭子. 延伸為有"阻止(某計劃, 想法等), 使…破滅, "等的意思. 我個人認為還可以有"打擊, 削弱"的意思.
1. 通常當名詞使用時, 是一個片語出現. The boss finally put the kibosh on our two-hour lunch meetings. 老闆最終決定停止我們兩個小時的午餐會議. 2. 字典上也有說可以當動詞用.
