想起美國獨立宣言的preamble 第一段第二句:


We hold these truths to be self-evident,
that all men are created equal,
that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,
that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.


Benjamin Franklin 建議 Thomas Jefferson 將初稿的 sacred (神聖的) 改為 self-evident。
Shakespeare 大概也贊同 self-evident 的抉擇吧!
