Structure:

The background was Henry's parents were already fall asleep, and the most important thing in this chapter was dreams and a small blue flower.

Henry first think something about himself and a stranger's word,and he is very desire a blue flower.

This flower was appeared in his dream. Then,he slowly fall asleep and began to dream.

His dream likes a person's life. When he across from a ocean with inconceivable ease,his new life was begun. In this new life he had a lot of special adventure experience.

Finally he was awakened by his mother. Then,his father thought that”The nature of dreams as well as the world of men must have been different in those days”.

Dreams are just like a supernatural world. Henry's father is chasing the regularity and maybe it was means rich in nowadays. Henry and his father were arguing in the benefit of dreams. Finally,Henry's father then told them about his dream before dreams.

 It was a special experience that he have a journey like Henry and final into a hut via an old man. This house was full of books and “antiquities”.
(we will found it in later stories,maybe it is means something about ancient remembrance and the nature spirit.)

The old man have a lot of knowledge about ancient things,was talking with Henry's father. Soon,he was fall asleep in this hut and dreamed he was went back to his mother country and saw a lot of scenery. 

Later he was awakened in this hut and find steps could came to a spacious cavern...

It is what happening in the chapter 1.Henry's father find himself lying in a green meadow. All the things are his spirit separated from his body. Then he had said that his dream have a particular flower let him pleasant.

 Henry very excited and thought this color must be blue. But Henry's father also said that his companion tell him if saw this scenery must be pray earnestly and if heed to a small blue flower, break it off....

Symbols:

This small blue flower maybe means the nature feeling that against of regularity.

Henry's Father maybe means regularity and routine,and Henry means the nature and romantic.

Father's dream means the against of nature,we can see it in his companion's word.

Henry's dream means people loves nature. Even if nature was wild.

Only in Henry and his father's dream, and I have described in “structure”.

Henry chasing nature and another world.

Henry's father chasing regularity, and deny the dream can bring people to good life.
