THE FOOL AND THE VENUS

The echo :

''One of those artificial fools, one of those wilful clowns whose duty it is to make kings laugh when Remorse or Boredom obsesses them, dressed up in a garish and ridiculous costume....''

~Charles Baudelaire

In this paragraph Baudelaire used a lot of concrete sentences to describe the ''fool''.For example, these fools dressed up in a ridiculous costume. Now, we have a question: ''What fool means?'' I think it was a kind of behalf to some low classes people and they just like live in hell. What is the Venus means? In Baudelaire's words is:

''Venus gazes far into the distance at some object or other with her marble eyes.''

~Charles Baudelaire

Venus is a god in fable, and her position is higher than simple humankind. In this paragraph Venus was a marble sculpture, of course, it was no reaction at all. These high classes people never mind the low classes people's needs. To sum up, in this prose poem I saw a big contrast in two kind of classes people.

CROWDS

The echo:

''It is not given to everyone to take a bath in the multitude; to enjoy the crowd is an art; and only that man can gorge himself with vitality...''

~Charles Baudelaire

In this paragraph Baudelaire to classify people, and there are a kind of people can live in crowds. We can know a special kind of people is poet according to this sentences:

The poet enjoys the incomparable privilege that he can, at will, be either himself or another.

~Charles Baudelaire

Every paragraph is a small story about one concept. Like the final paragraph is about wake these lucky guys up to tell them their nearsighted.

GET DRUNK

The echo:

So as not to feel Time's horrible burden that breaks your shoulders and bows you down, you must get drunk without ceasing.

~Charles Baudelaire

Get drunk, get drunk in a fantasy world. We can found some pressure in our daily life.

How to release? Yes, get drunk. Baudelaire want express a kind of ecstasy, maybe wine, maybe virtue, it was up to you! We can found some poetry sentences like:

''But what with? Wih wine, with poetry, or with virtue, as you choose. But get drunk.''

~Charles Baudelaire

Next paragraph was mentioned about a lot of items that call you to get drunk. All...all...; which...which...; it was a manner to emphasize the importance about get drunk!

    SOLITUDE

    The echo:

''I know that willingly and often the fiend haunts arid land, and that he spirit of murder and of lechery flares up marvelously in deserted places. But it is not impossible that this solitude is dangerous only to the idle and wandering soul, which peoples it with its passions and its chimeras.''

~Charles Baudelaire

In fact, not to everyone is dangerous that only to the idle and wandering soul. Baudelaire considered the solitude could bring some mystery and he love it. Every paragraph shows one thing about solitude and it was Baudelaire's thinking.

''Oh he great misfortune of those who cannot be alone!'' La Bruyere says somewhere, as though to shame all those who rush away to forget themselves in the crowd, afraid, no doubt, that they cannot support themselves without help.''

~Charles Baudelaire

THE PORT

The echo:

All paragraph just only one. In the paragraph Baudelaire used a lot of concrete iems o describe the beauty of the port. There are some words have to pay attention.

''Also, and above all, for the man who no longer possesses either curiosity or ambition, here is a kind of mysterious and aristocratic pleasure in contemplating, while lying on the belvedere or resting his elbows on the jetty-head, all these movements of men who are leaving and men who are returning, of those who still have the strength to will, the desire to travel or to enrich themselves.''

~Charles Baudelaire

It was means some inner spirit feeling to these things they have try before and experience before. Baudelaire described this inner feeling used a image to express what he wanted to say.

ANYWHERE OUT OF THE WORLD

The echo:

My soul does not reply.

My soul remains silent.

Not a word. Could my soul be dead?

At last my soul explodes, and widely cries out to me : ''No matter where! No matter where! As long as it's out of the world!''

~Charles Baudelaire

Baudelaire ask questions to his inner soul and found that his soul just hates the world.

He uses a lot of places to try to come into his soul notice, like Baltic, Pole. We can also found that Baudelaire very anxious about his dead soul, but no matter how he anxious it was no use at all.
