對于致癌的爭議是否影響普洱茶的銷量，薛先生表示，基本影響不大，可能會影響一部分剛接觸普洱的人，但不會影響常年喝普洱的消費群體。

薛先生也提醒消費者，如果發現家中的普洱茶出現白點、紅點，而且聞起來有異味，就不要再飲用了，即便是存了多年的“升值不少的”。而且儲存普洱茶這種發酵食品盡量要在乾燥、通風的環境。
