兒童戲劇的第三堂課:Body Awareness and Observation

老師可以複習上一堂課的內容,可以視情況玩上堂課孩子普遍喜歡的遊戲,或是玩上一堂課來不及玩的紅綠燈。

第三堂課可以來做點Body Awareness and Observation練習,幫助孩子覺察身體,和練習觀察別人的動作表情。

一開始一樣是熱身,幫助孩子做發聲練習,接著做一點身體的暖身:Music Carnival

播放不同類型的音樂,可以是不同語言、音樂類型、樂器,讓孩子跟著音樂隨意去擺動身體。輕柔的音樂和搖滾的音樂孩子就可以表現出不一樣的肢體語言,同一首歌用鋼琴或是用鼓也可以。

步驟如下:

a. The first is beautiful, gentle and relaxing music, which allows students to imagine beautiful nature and a happy life. 

b. Then there is irritable, frightening, and annoying music, which makes students imagine that they have a headache, toothache, stomachache. Any discomfort caused by fever, or caused by the environment such as extreme heat, smoke, exhaust gas, noise, garbage. 

c. The instructor should choose different rhythms, interpretation methods (opera, blues, lyric, popular music), regional countries (Chinese, Europe, Japan, India, Africa), musical instruments (flute, piano, ocarina, guitar) ... enables students to find different rhythm changes from within.

今天Body Awareness的遊戲是Action Mirror,孩子兩兩一組,一個A一個B。A先開始的話,B就先當鏡子。老師口頭下達指定動作,讓A去做,B則是要看著自己的搭擋A,去模仿A的動作和表情(因為B是鏡子)。記得這個遊戲不是要讓B無法複製A的動作,最好是別人分不清誰是做動作的人,誰是鏡子。一段時間後孩子角色互換。記得這是一個無聲的遊戲。

步驟如下:

a. Ask everyone in the class to find a partner, and designate one partner as A and other as B. 

b. Once all the students have paired up, tell the pairs to different parts of the room so that they have some space. 

c. Tell As that they are looking in the mirror (Bs).

d. Explain the exercise as follows:

INSTRUCTOR: In a moment. A will start to move very slowly, and B, you will try to mirror their movements. During this time, I will intermittently call out actions. A is going to have to create the action that I call out. For instance, I may call out, "brushing your teeth." At this point, As will create the action for brush your teeth and Bs will mirror the action. It is imperative that your movements are slow and flowing so that your partner can really follow them. The idea is not to trick your partner, but to help them. There is no talking during this exercise. I am only calling out actions intermittently. The rest of the time, As, you will have to keep the movement going with Bs mirroring.

Some other possible actions: 

Drinking a cup of coffee 
Buttoning up your coat 
Brushing your hair
Peeling an orange 
Putting on lipstick

e. Tell them to move VERY slowly.  B’s are the mirror and must follow A so closely that an observer would not be able to tell who is leading and who is following.  Encourage them to mirror not only body movement but also facial expression.

f. Again but let them switch.

關於Observation的遊戲,就玩一個大家小時候玩過Rhythm Exercise的吧!小朋友坐成一個圈,老師指派一個孩子出去,然後其他人選一個leader帶領大家做動作,大家都要複製leader的動作(拍手、摸頭等等),再讓在教室外的孩子進來,猜誰是leader。孩子如果猜中了,要問他是怎麼猜的,然後下一輪大家要針對問題去做改正,希望下一個在教室外的孩子不要猜中leader是誰。

步驟如下:

a. Have all of your actors sit in a circle. 

b. You are going to start this exercise with a demonstration. Start off by clapping a rhythm and having all the actors clap along with you. 

c. Change from clapping to snapping your fingers, and again have all the actors join in with you.

d. Now start patting your hand on your knees and have all the actors join in with you. 

e. Send one of your actors out of the room. Point to one of the actors in the circle, but dont mention his name. To make sure everyone knows who he is, have him raise his hand for a moment. This actor is now going to become the leader. 

f. He will start a rhythm such as clapping hands and everyone else will follow. Every so often, he should change the rhythm to something else, and everyone else will again follow. Have him start the rhythm while the actor is outside of the room. 

g. The actor who is outside the room will come in to the center of the circle. His job is to try to work out who is changing the rhythm. He is allowed up to three guesses in order to do so. 

h. The group should try not to look directly at the actor who is changing the rhythm, to make it more difficult for the guesser. Provided they can see the leader, they should be able to do this.

i. Once the leader is discovered, or the three guesses are up, you can switch the leader. If the actor in the middle guesses the leader very quickly, ask him, "What gave it away? What made it so easy for you to guess who was changing the rhythm?" For instance, perhaps the leader is changing the rhythm too fast and the other actors cannot keep up. Perhaps some actors are not focused. Perhaps some actors are staring directly at the person who is changing the rhythm and giving it away. 

j. See how the group can problem solve to make it more challenging the next round.
