有一個小孩，到處跟人家偷東西吃，

There was a boy who used to steal food.

他媽媽問說：「你到底偷了什麼東西？」

One day, he stole again and his mother asked,

What did you steal today?”

兒子說：「媽媽，我跟人家偷一些芋頭，好好吃哦！」

He said, “Mom, I stole some taros and they are very delicious.”

他媽媽好生氣的說：

「你這個小孩子怎麼可以這樣，要偷東西不要只偷一點點。」

Hearing this, his mother was angry, “How could you do that?”

Said the mother, “You should not steal some taros; you should steal MORE.”

隨後，媽媽拿了鋤頭，跟他去偷芋頭。

In the meantime, she fetched a hoe and hurried with him to the farm.

小孩本來以為媽媽會打他，沒想到媽媽是生氣他偷得太少，

Originally the boy thought his mother would punish him,

but it turned out

to be quite the opposite.

兩人又一起去偷更多芋頭。

芋頭沒有成熟也通通帶回來。

He then brought his mother to the farm and stole all the taros back home,

including those immature ones.

煮好芋頭，媽媽就跟小孩說：

「你年紀小吃少一點，媽媽年紀大，食量較大要多吃一點。」

After cooking, the mother said to her son,

"You are young and I'm older, so you should save more taros for me to eat."

結果，兩人都中毒，因為芋頭沒有成熟是有毒的，

這就是做了壞榜樣。

And in the end, both of them suffered from food poisoning.

The reason is because immature taros are in fact poisonous.

So this mother has made a very bad example.
