鳥栖魚不動，月照夜江深。Birds perch, fish still. The moon brightens the river late at night.

七弦為益友，兩耳是知音。The seven-string instrument is my pal; my two ears are its bosom friends. 

心靜即聲淡，其間無古今。The sound of the lute lowers as my heart goes into tranquility, in which time makes no difference.
