My wife and I had a real time video conversation with our daughter yesterday.  She told us that our second granddaughter seriously said to her father, our son-in-law, that he is the only one in the house that cannot speak Chinese.  So cute!

Actually, my daughter sent two kids to some Chinese preschool to learn Chinese. But according to the teachers, my younger granddaughter was unwilling to speaking any Chinese in the classroom, and she only used English to communicate with teachers and other kids. Anyway, she could understand what people, including her mother, said to her in Chinese, but she just replied to them with English only.

I don’t know why she is unwilling to speak Chinese, maybe she is just a shy kid.  Funny thing is she complained to her father "全家只有你不會中文" in English.  She is so sweet!
