An UDN report said subject restaurant is going to be a history by the end of 2018 due to an urban gentrification plan.  The restaurant, located at an alley opposite to Sun Yet-shen Hall, did not reveal its future plan if it will close for awhile and find a new place to continue operating, but the news attracted a surge of patronage from its old clentele recently, according to the report.

The restaurant was founded in 1953, the year when my family and I came to Taiwan from Mainland, subsequent to a long stay at Hong Kong.  You know, then my grandfathers law firm was just at the other side of the Hall square  (Later on he moved his firm to somewhere at Po-ai Road), which was adjacent to the restaurant, and later my father told me that we had our very first "formal" meal at that restaurant when we got to Taipei.  After the meal, we spent our first night at Taipei by sleeping on the floor of the firm.

Since then, we have visited the restaurant every once in a while.  The food they served could hardly be called delicacies, but its flavor could meet our sense of taste well.  The last time I came to there was about several months ago, with by brothers and some friends.  We found the taste of the food and their services were not as good as they used to be, and now I might know the reason why.

Good luck, Longji.  My memories of Taiwan were made from your place.
