「One World! One Dream!」 Joy, I wanted to thank you for looking out after our apartment along with the many other generous and thoughtful things you have done for us during our stay in China. I'm sorry about any trouble that arose from the owners using it. I believe that was a lack of communication from the staff at China Charities as well as inappropriate use of the apartment. In any case it was you and not us who worried about it and we thank you for being watchful. We have heard that there may have been a bit of snow in Beijing. I'll bet it is beautiful although perhaps inconvenient. Have you heard yet for how much longer you and Sam will be staying in Beijing? You may be aware that the new couple, The Ricks, are having visa troubles and will likely be arriving a bit later than expected. We have talked with them on the telephone and they sound like really nice people. Both of them were missionaries in Taiwan many years ago and so speak some Mandarin although probably not as good as Dr. Smith. Even so I'm sure they would greatly benefit from some guidance if you are willing. You surely made life easier (and a lot more fun) for Donna and me. I have missed your pleasant smile and joyful attitude and I have had much less fun teasing anyone here. We wanted you to know how much we value your friendship and should you ever plan a trip to the US we would surely welcome a visit. We hope you enjoy the festivities associated with Christmas and I guess I hope that someday you may also enjoy the real purpose of the celebration. Your friends, Phil & Donna
